RCID PrEP Clinic for HIV Prevention

The RCID PrEP Clinic specializes in offering  pre-exposure prophylaxis

(PrEP) to HIV-negative individuals at risk for HIV infection who are interested in PrEP as a means to prevent HIV. 

​

PrEP is Prevention in a Pill. Taking a once-daily pill can reduce your risk of contracting HIV by 90%. 

​

The RCID PrEP Clinic helps people at high risk for HIV take steps to prevent infection. Our providers are HIV and infectious disease specialists. They are committed to patient care and dedicated to the idea that PrEP offers a unique and promising strategy for preventing new HIV infections in our community.

The clinic offers:

​

  • Counseling (risk reduction, assistance in obtaining PrEP medication, etc.)

  • Laboratory monitoring (free STI testing for the uninsured)

  • Social work

  • Pharmacy support

  • Financial assistance programs

Through the generous support of the Cone Health Foundation,  RCID is able to provide PrEP free of charge to patients annually who qualify based on financial need. Patients with insurance will be filed at time of service.            

    

Follow these steps to PrEP

1. Call 336-832-7840 and make an appointment 

2. Bring proof of address, 2 pay stubs, or W-2 to your first appointment

3. Meet with clinical pharmacist & staff to discuss PrEP regimen & complete financial assistance application

4. Complete lab work

5. Receive PrEP medication the following week
