Pharmacy Technician / Patient Advocate

Cassie earned her doctorate of pharmacy degree from West Virginia University School of Pharmacy. She went on to complete a general post-graduate pharmacy residency at Moses Cone Hospital and then a second post-graduate pharmacy residency specializing in Infectious Diseases also with Cone Health.  She has her Clinical Pharmacist Practitioner license from the NCBOP, and she has also earned her HIV pharmacist certification from the American Academy of HIV Medicine.  She has been a full-time member of our RCID team since July 2017.

Betty works as a Specialty Pharmacy Patient Advocate and Pharmacy Technician, certified through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board and licensed through the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy.  


As a patient advocate, she functions as a liaison between the patient, clinic and pharmacy (insured and uninsured patients) to answer reimbursement questions and avoid delays in getting medications.


She will file for prior authorizations,  obtain copay assistance and coordinate pick up or delivery of medications.


Betty also has experience as a hospital Pharmacy Technician making IV's ,including chemo, inputting medication histories and delivering medications throughout the hospital and emergency rooms.
